Volumetric Concrete

A volumetric concrete mixer (also known as a mobile batching plant) is a truck that contains the concrete ingredients (water, sand, stone, cement and admix) on-board ready to mix at the customers site.

As a result, the concrete is delivered to the customer exactly as required without any waste. The mixer is a mobile machine that measures the raw materials using volume rather than weight. The volumetric mixer blends the concrete using an auger which is fed with all the separate ingredients on a belt.

The volumetric mixing process starts with a batch metering system that allows the volume of raw materials to be measured prior to entering the mixing chamber.
