Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions Answered

If you have any questions about our concrete products or services have a look through these frequently asked questions.

If you need more help for piece of mine why not contact us and let one of our team help you with your query.

What is the minimum order I can place?

There is no minimum order with our onsite concrete mixers. We charge to the nearest 0.25m³ with a minimum charge of 2m³. When our vehicles arrive on site, they often hold a full load (12m³).

However you will only pay for what you use so you can never really under or over order. Furthermore, there is no wastage or un-carried charges.

What are your opening hours?

Our office is open Monday to Saturday 6am to 7pm with the exception of Public Holidays.

However, we operate a 24hr 7 days a week service. Please contact a member of our team for more details or if you have any questions.

What mix design do I need and how much?

Often a mix design will be specified by your Architect, Site Engineer or Building Control officer. The design will be determined by the end use and strength requirement.

Other variables include Admix. You can contact a member of our team with your requirements. They will be more than happy to advise you in your design choice.

How do I know how much I need?

You can use our online concrete calculator to estimate your requirement. Simply enter the dimension and it will give you an estimate of how much concrete you need. Alternatively, you can request a free no obligation call back and one of our friendly staff will be more than willing to help you.

How long does it take for the concrete to set?

Concrete will normally set within 8 hours. However this is entirely dependent on the mix design. Admixtures such as Accelerator will speed up the process.

We advise the client to allow 12 – 48 hrs drying time. It can take longer than this for the concrete to reach full strength.

How much does the concrete / screed cost?

The cost of concrete and screed is dependent on a number of factors including mix design, admixtures, delivery location / timing, laying option and quantity.

At Cemgate we aim to be the most competitively priced provider in the market. For a free no obligation estimate, based on your specific requirements, please contact a member of our sales team.
